Update: TomTom’s GPS app now works with the iPod touch

Man, has TomTom flip-flopped (more than either major political party on the last few campaigns) as to whether its iPhone GPS app + dock will / will not work with the other iGuy – the iPod touch. Well, as of yesterday, it seems that the latest update to the iApp (v1.2) has brought good news for all of us touch owners – support for the iPod touch (and the first-gen iPhone) when used in conjunction with its car kit.

I must admit that last few months of on-again, off-again speculation have really dented my interest in the GPS app + dock. However, for the right price (as in, not its current price), I would definitely consider purchasing the dock and app to turn my (2G) touch into a car-ready GPS device. In any case, I’m glad TomTom finally sided with logic (i.e. doubling, if not tripling, its potential market base) and has updated the app for the rest of us iThing users.
