It’s been over a month since I first fired up my (then) new Linksys WRT54G2 Wireless-G Router. I am happy to report that over the past 30+ days I have not had to reboot either the router or my (Comcast) cable modem a single time – that’s what I call reliability!
Man, what a difference. Before
switching upgrading to the WRT54G2, the old Belkin “router” was dropping my ‘net connection @ least once a day, if not every time I accessed Google Maps or Facebook (not sure why, but it would consistently hang on those sites).
All in all, there’s really not much to complain about (except that 802.11g operates on the widely used 2.4GHz band, thus it only gets a 9 out of 10). The WRT54G2 wireless-G router is a great choice for anyone looking for a new router, especially until 802.11n is finalized (whenever that actually happens).
