“When it rains, it pours,” quipped some smart guy a long while back. It seems the same holds true for the music I enjoy. Starting last Tuesday (Sept. 8 ) and ending Sept. 21, three artists that I generally enjoy have/are releasing new material.
Phish released its first studio album – Joy – in over five years last Tuesday on its own record label, JEMP. Muse is set to release its latest studio work – The Resistance – on Sept. 15 (in the US). And Thom Yorke has recently announced the availability of 2 new tracks on Sept. 21.
If you are one of those people who like to “try before you buy,” you can stream the entirety of Joy on Phish’s MySpace page and the whole of The Resistance on Muse’s site. As for the new Yorke works, they should be available via WASTE on Sept. 21.
